EVIDENCE
Getting your arms around the career of the whirlwind known as Evidence is not like snapping your fingers. He’s a composer, a producer and a rapper, a photographer and videographer, a solo artist and a key member of notable rap crews. He’s also astonishingly prolific. During the last 20 years, Evidence has produced and/or rhymed on no less than 47 albums, starting with projects of his own (his solo albums and the output of Dilated Peoples and the Step Brothers), and including efforts by such esteemed West Coast colleagues as Tha Alkaholiks, Alchemist,
Defari, Souls of Mischief, Vince Staples, and such East Coast stalwarts as Raekwon, Heltah Skeltah, Infamous Mobb, Styles P, Everlast, Action Bronson and the Beastie Boys. Michael Perretta – known today as Evidence, The Weatherman, and Mr. Slow Flow – was born to Louis Michael Perretta and Jana Taylor Perretta in Venice, California in 1976. His photography was inspired by his mother and, like his music, is an honest look into the lens of one of Los Angeles’ most prolific artists.
