Los Angeles-based Buckshot Gallery is set to host an upcoming exhibit featuring the works of legendary graffiti artist, SEEN.
Dubbed "Old New York", and set for Feb. 20, the exhibit will showcased the artist's previously undisclosed abstract works on canvas, as well as his iconic free-hand graffiti works.
The works document a highly prolific period in Paris, during which SEEN has created abstracts utilizing various techniques and unexpected materials, such as metal frames from Parisian roof top.
SEEN is rightly referred to as the "Godfather of Graffiti" and his enduring importance to the art of the present is attested to by the countless exhibitions in leading international galleries and museums. In the early 1980s, he moved from the streets to the studio to produce original works on canvas. When street art started to become legitimate, SEEN was at the forefront.
